For the first time in 2008, the EI hosted a 3-day programme of conferences, lectures and networking events focusing on demand side issues, examining sustainable supply, energy efficiency, energy security and climate change.

Full description of conference:
Now in its third year, ‘Energy in transition’ (EIT) is a series of conferences organised by the Energy Institute, examining the route to a clean and secure supply of energy whilst reducing demand in order to mitigate climate change. The event invites key industry figures and thought leaders to speak on issues such as meeting the EU directives, heat, SMART homes and communities and sustainable energy.

Energy in Transition 2010 is held in London from 12 - 14 October. Confirmed speakers include:

- Dr Brenda Boardman MBE FEI, Environmental Change Institute
- Professor Paul Ekins HonFEI, Professor of Energy and Environment Policy, UCL Energy Institute
